Following the blockbuster success of KGF Chapter 2, Rocking Star Yash is back in the spotlight with his highly anticipated film Toxic. Directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film boasts an ambitious budget of Rs 500 crore. However, it has recently faced controversy over allegations of forest land misuse, with reports suggesting that trees were cut down to construct lavish sets in the Bangalore area.

Clarification from Producers

In response to the allegations, Supreet, head of KVN Productions, firmly denied any wrongdoing. He clarified that the 20 acres of land used for the film’s production is private property, not classified as government or forest land. Supreet emphasized that the massive sets, which occupy only two acres, were built in compliance with all legal requirements, supported by necessary documentation.

A Global Cinematic Vision

Toxic is envisioned as a pan-world film, featuring a diverse cast that includes actors from Hollywood and various Indian film industries. The film’s art direction, led by Mohan B Kere, involves a team of over a thousand workers daily, creating intricate sets inspired by the 1960s and 70s in Goa. Each set comes with a hefty price tag of approximately Rs 40 crore.

Production Highlights

The production has already seen a 30-day schedule in Mumbai, with future plans to shoot in London, Sri Lanka, and Goa. However, logistical challenges have led the team to construct London-inspired sets in Hyderabad and Bangalore instead. The London-style set alone is budgeted at Rs 50 crore and will require thousands of workers over the next three months, pushing total set costs to at least Rs 150 crore.

Anticipation and Future Plans

As the film continues to generate buzz, anticipation builds around both its grand scale and Yash’s return to the big screen. While further details on the plot and the remaining cast are yet to be unveiled, Toxic promises to be a significant entry in the cinematic landscape.
