Sales Milestone Achieved
Volkswagen India has proudly announced that its Virtus sedan has reached the significant milestone of 50,000 units sold since its launch in June 2022. The C-segment sedan achieved this feat in just over 28 months, averaging around 1,785 units sold each month.

Strong Performance in 2024
Notably, of the total units sold, 17,000 were sold in the 2024 calendar year alone. The Virtus has emerged as the top-selling sedan in its category during the first half of 2024, with sales figures outperforming competitors like the Hyundai Verna. From May to July, Volkswagen sold 4,932 units of the Virtus, compared to the Verna’s 4,225 units, reflecting a 15% sales advantage.

India 2.0 Strategy Success
The Virtus, along with the Taigun, plays a crucial role in Volkswagen’s India 2.0 strategy. Together, these models have surpassed 100,000 domestic sales in the second quarter of 2024. By the end of Q3 2024, Volkswagen’s overall sales in India reached 650,000 units, with the India 2.0 models contributing nearly 18.5% to this volume.

Customer Appreciation
Ashish Gupta, brand director for Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, expressed gratitude towards customers for their support. He noted, “Since its launch, we have sold nearly 60 Virtus sedans every day.” This strong reception underscores the brand’s growing popularity in the Indian market.
