Odisha’s Pride Shines Bright
Trishna Ray, a 19-year-old student from KIIT University in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, has achieved a remarkable milestone by being crowned Miss Teen Universe 2024. The prestigious pageant took place in Kimberley, South Africa, from November 1 to 9, showcasing talents from across the globe.
A Competitive Arena
Competing against ten finalists from countries such as Peru, South Africa, Brazil, and Kenya, Trishna’s grace and talent stood out. Peru’s Anne Thorsen and Namibia’s Precious Andre were named first and second runners-up, respectively, but it was Trishna who captured the crown and brought pride to India.
A Journey of Perseverance
Studying fashion technology at KIIT, Trishna is the daughter of Colonel Dillip Kumar Ray and Rajashree Ray. Her journey to success wasn’t without hurdles, as she faced visa complications that prevented her from competing in Colombia and the Dominican Republic. However, her determination paid off in South Africa.
Celebrated by Leaders
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT University, praised Trishna’s resilience and determination following her win. Former Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, took to social media to congratulate her, expressing his hopes for her future success. He tweeted, “Congratulate #Odisha’s Trishna Ray on being crowned Miss Teen Universe 2024. May she scale new heights in her career and make our state proud.”
A Proud Moment for India
Trishna first gained recognition after winning the Miss Teen Universe India title on April 13 last year. Her recent achievement is celebrated not just as a personal victory, but as a source of pride for both Odisha and India, inspiring many young individuals to pursue their dreams despite challenges.
