The Tata Nexon ICE has officially secured a five-star safety rating for both adult and child occupant protection under the Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) crash test. This commendable achievement follows the Nexon EV’s five-star rating earlier this year and aligns with Tata’s commitment to safety across its vehicle lineup. Notably, all variants of the Nexon ICE in India are included in this rating.
Breakdown of Safety Performance
In terms of adult safety, the Nexon ICE scored an impressive 29.41 out of 32 points. Its performance in specific tests includes 14.64 out of 16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and 14.76 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test. The test results indicate that the protection offered to both the driver and front passenger ranges from good to adequate during frontal impacts.

Child Protection Highlights
On the child protection front, the Nexon ICE scored 43.83 out of 49 points. The detailed assessment reveals that it achieved 22.83 out of 24 points for the safety provided to child test dummies during crash tests. Additionally, it scored 12 points for the effectiveness of its child restraint systems, with a minor deduction in the vehicle assessment test score, achieving 9 out of 13 points.
Standard Safety Features
The Tata Nexon ICE comes equipped with an array of standard safety features, including six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and anti-lock braking system (ABS). These features contribute significantly to its high safety ratings, reinforcing Tata’s dedication to enhancing occupant protection.
