Skoda has officially teased its upcoming all-electric compact SUV, the Elroq, set to make its global debut on October 1. This vehicle marks a significant milestone as it will be the brand’s first compact SUV based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform and the first to showcase Skoda’s new “Modern Solid” design language.
The latest teaser provides insight into the Elroq’s aesthetic, highlighting its segmented Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) that form a lightbar across the front. The DRLs are complemented by boomerang-style headlamps, creating a striking front profile. Additionally, the SUV will feature a sleek, blacked-out grille and distinctive alloy wheels, with the signature crab-arm LED taillamps echoing Skoda’s design heritage.
Key Features and Specifications
Skoda has confirmed that the Elroq will be available in four powertrain variants:
- Elroq 50: Equipped with a 125 kW (168 bhp) electric motor and a 55 kWh battery.
- Elroq 60: Features a more powerful 150 kW (201 bhp) motor paired with a 63 kWh battery.
- Elroq 85: Comes with an 82 kWh battery, delivering 210 kW (282 bhp) from a single motor.
- Elroq 85x: Similar battery size as the 85 but adds an electric motor to the front axle, resulting in a total output of 220 kW (295 bhp).
Impressive Range and Performance
Skoda has promised an impressive driving range of up to 560 km on a full charge, depending on the variant selected. While detailed performance figures are yet to be revealed, the anticipation surrounding the Elroq’s capabilities continues to grow as it nears its unveiling.
