Vijayawada: Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev, known for his passion for golf, recently met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The meeting took place on Tuesday and included discussions on expanding the golfing landscape in the state.

During the discussions, both Kapil Dev and Naidu deliberated on establishing a golf course in Andhra Pradesh. Kapil, who led India to its historic ODI World Cup victory in 1983, expressed optimism about the potential for golf in the region. “Golf is a growing game in this country and the world. We wish we can have a facility here,” he stated, highlighting his role as the President of the Indian Golf Association.

Kapil Dev emphasized the importance of sports in youth development and assured the Chief Minister of his cooperation in setting up a sports city on land designated by the Andhra Pradesh government. Naidu, recognizing the significance of sports, expressed enthusiasm about promoting golf, particularly in Amaravati, Anantapur, and Vizag.
