India’s Highly-Anticipated Show Misses Out on Award
New York, Nov 26, 2024: At the 52nd International Emmy Awards held on November 25, India’s crime-thriller series The Night Manager was nominated in the prestigious Drama Series category but ultimately lost out to Les Gouttes de Dieu (Drops of God), a French production.
The Night Manager, which stars Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor, and Sobhita Dhulipala, was one of the standout Indian shows to be recognized at this year’s awards. The event, hosted by actor-comedian Vir Das, celebrated the best television programs produced outside the United States in 2023. The ceremony took place at the New York Hilton Midtown and was available for streaming worldwide.
Les Gouttes de Dieu took home the Drama Series award, with Fleur Geffrier, Sam Kozhaya, and Alfred Lot accepting the trophy. The French show’s win was a highlight of the evening, as it bested The Night Manager along with several other notable nominees in the category.
Global Representation at the Awards
The 2024 International Emmy Awards featured a diverse group of nominees, with 56 shows from 21 countries, including the United Kingdom, Brazil, Argentina, France, and India.
