The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have announced the killing of Suhail Hussein Husseini, the head of Hezbollah’s logistics unit, during an airstrike in Beirut on October 7. The IDF shared details of the operation on social media, stating that the strike was based on intelligence inputs and was executed by Air Force fighter jets targeting a compound in the Beirut area.

Hezbollah has not yet commented on the death of Husseini. This incident follows a series of significant strikes by Israel, including a recent attack on October 3 that resulted in the deaths of three senior Hamas leaders in Gaza.

The IDF’s statement characterized Husseini as a key figure within Hezbollah, referring to the group as a “terrorist organization.” This operation adds to the escalating tensions in the Middle East, where the security situation has been volatile since Hamas launched a major attack on Israel last year, which has since resulted in extensive casualties on both sides.

As the situation develops, the implications of these strikes for the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah remain a critical focus for regional observers.
