Aggressive New Design
Hero MotoCorp has officially launched the all-new Xtreme 250R at the EICMA 2024 trade show in Milan, positioning it as the flagship model in the Xtreme family. Drawing inspiration from the Xtunt 2.5R concept bike unveiled last year, the Xtreme 250R showcases an aggressive design characterized by sharp lines and a bold stance. Key design elements include an LED projector headlamp, sporty tank extensions reminiscent of the Xtreme 125R, a split-seat configuration, and a stubby upswept exhaust.
Trellis Frame and Handling Features
Built on a trellis frame, the Xtreme 250R boasts a well-balanced 50:50 weight distribution, enhancing its handling capabilities. The motorcycle features a modern digital instrument cluster equipped with turn-by-turn navigation and various connected features, ensuring riders stay informed while on the move.
Advanced Suspension and Braking System
The Xtreme 250R is fitted with a 43 mm upside-down (USD) fork setup at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear, providing a comfortable and controlled ride. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, complemented by switchable ABS modes, allowing riders to customize their braking experience. Additionally, lightweight alloy wheels contribute to the bike’s nimbleness.
Powertrain Specifications
At the heart of the Xtreme 250R is a 250 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine that delivers a robust performance of 29.5 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 25 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm. The power is transmitted via a 6-speed transmission, with Hero claiming an impressive acceleration from 0 to 60 km/h in just 3.25 seconds.
Competition and Market Positioning
While specific details regarding launch dates and pricing are yet to be disclosed, the Xtreme 250R is set to compete with popular models such as the KTM 250 Duke and Suzuki Gixxer 250 in the Indian market. With its standout features and sporty design, Hero aims to capture the attention of motorcycle enthusiasts looking for a powerful street naked bike.
