Hyderabad: Actor Dhanush has officially revealed the title and concept poster of his fourth directorial project, previously known as D52. This exciting announcement comes shortly after his reconciliation with the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC), allowing him to return to Tamil cinema.
Dhanush took to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday to share the film’s title, “Idli Kadai,” along with a visually captivating poster that features a roadside eatery under a starry night. The poster depicts a shopkeeper and a customer, suggesting a narrative rooted in everyday life. In his post, Dhanush wrote, “#D52 #DD4 Om Namashivaaya.”
A Strong Comeback
This film marks Dhanush’s 52nd project as an actor and signifies his significant return after resolving his issues with the TFPC, which had previously resulted in a temporary ban. Dhanush has settled his debts with Five Star Creations and is also set to collaborate with Thenandal Films in the future.
The film will see Dhanush in the lead role, with further casting details yet to be announced. Music for “Idli Kadai” will be composed by GV Prakash Kumar, with Kiran Koushik handling cinematography and Prasanna GK managing editing duties. The project is produced by Aakash Baskaran’s Dawn Pictures in association with Dhanush’s own Wunderbar Films.
Future Projects on the Horizon
“Idli Kadai” is particularly notable as it marks Dhanush’s first Tamil film following the lifting of his ban. The actor was last seen in “Raayan,” his second directorial venture. Upcoming projects include “Kubera,” directed by Sekhar Kammula, featuring co-stars Rashmika Mandanna and Nagarjuna, as well as the biopic “Maestro” on Ilaiyaraaja. Dhanush is also in the process of directing his third film, “Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam,” which boasts a promising ensemble cast.
