Mercedes-Benz is gearing up for the launch of its all-new sixth-generation E-Class in India, scheduled for October 9, 2024. This model marks an important chapter for the E-Class, continuing its legacy that began with its first local assembly in India back in 1995.

Local Production Commences at Chakan Plant

The new E-Class will be produced at Mercedes-Benz’s Chakan facility, reinforcing the company’s commitment to local manufacturing. Vyankatesh Kulkarni, Executive Director and Head of Operations at Mercedes-Benz India, stated, “The start of local production of the New Long Wheelbase E-Class is an important milestone, reiterating Mercedes-Benz India’s world-class manufacturing capabilities and dedication to the ‘Make in India’ initiative.”

Evolutionary Design Meets Cutting-Edge Technology

The latest E-Class boasts an evolutionary design while incorporating advanced technology in its cabin. It will feature Mercedes’ MBUX Superscreen in higher variants, which includes a large central touchscreen and an additional display for the co-driver. Rear-seat passengers can expect luxury amenities such as independent climate zones, power-adjustable seats, headrest pillows, powered sunblinds, and a premium 730W Burmester audio system.

Powerful Engine Options for a Dynamic Drive

On the performance front, the new E-Class will be available with two four-cylinder engines: a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing approximately 195 bhp and a 2.0-litre diesel engine generating around 200 bhp. Both options will be paired with a smooth 9-speed automatic gearbox.

A Strong Contender in the Luxury Segment

With its long-wheelbase design and a host of luxurious features, the new E-Class is poised to compete effectively against rivals like the BMW 5 Series long-wheelbase. This launch not only enhances Mercedes-Benz’s lineup but also reinforces its position in the luxury car segment in India.
