This Diwali, two major Bollywood films are set to go head-to-head at the box office: Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again and Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Scheduled for release on November 1, both films are vying for the audience’s attention and optimal screen space, leading to an exciting competition.
Advance Bookings Reveal Initial Trends
Advance ticket bookings have already begun for both films, albeit on a staggered basis. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was available for pre-sale a day earlier and has already sold 29,315 tickets, generating a gross revenue of Rs 75.62 lakh by 11 am on October 29. In contrast, Singham Again has recently entered the fray, selling 3,177 tickets worth Rs 11.72 lakh within just a few hours of opening for pre-sales.
Screen Allocation Battle Intensifies
The competition for screen space has been fierce, with both films negotiating to maximize their box office potential. Reports indicate that the current allocation favors Singham Again, which has secured 56% of the total screen time across various venues, while Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 holds 46%. As more cinemas open additional screens, this distribution may evolve, impacting ticket sales further.
High Expectations for Both Franchises
Both films come with substantial expectations, bolstered by their loyal fan bases and successful track records. Singham Again features an impressive ensemble cast, including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Shroff. Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 counters with a strong lineup that includes Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri, directed by Anees Bazmee.
Predictions Point to a Surge in Sales
Industry experts anticipate a significant uptick in ticket sales in the lead-up to the release. Both films could potentially achieve some of the highest pre-sale figures of the year as audiences flock to theaters to celebrate Diwali with these exciting releases. The box office battle is shaping up to be a thrilling event for moviegoers this festive season.
