Hyderabad — Acclaimed director SS Rajamouli is set to launch his next grand cinematic venture, tentatively titled SSMB29, featuring Tollywood star Mahesh Babu. Following his monumental successes with the “Baahubali” series and “RRR,” Rajamouli is poised to deliver another blockbuster, with filming scheduled to commence in December. The first leg of the shoot will take place in Germany, setting the stage for what promises to be an epic adventure.

SSMB29 is generating buzz with its rumored Hollywood-style action and adventure, drawing inspiration from iconic spy narratives akin to James Bond and the adventurous spirit of Wilbur Smith’s novels. While the official details are still under wraps, the film is expected to be set in the lush and thrilling environment of the Amazon rainforest, promising audiences a visually stunning and high-energy experience.

The casting news is equally exciting, with speculations hinting at Indonesian actress Chelsea Islan joining the ensemble cast. Although her role has not been officially confirmed, her potential involvement has heightened anticipation for the film.

Adding depth to the project, Rajamouli’s father, Vijayendra Prasad, a celebrated writer, has provided some intriguing insights into the film’s inspiration. Both Rajamouli and Prasad are admirers of Wilbur Smith, and the storyline of SSMB29 is said to reflect elements from Smith’s adventurous novels.

Produced by KL Narayana under the Durga Arts banner, SSMB29 is slated for a January 2027 release. The film will be available in multiple languages, catering to a diverse global audience. Mahesh Babu is reportedly undergoing a transformation for his role, ensuring a fresh and dynamic portrayal.
