Hybrid Powertrain Introduction
Lexus has announced exciting updates for its flagship SUV, the 2025 Lexus LX 700h, which will now feature a hybrid powertrain option for the first time. This new electrified variant joins the existing petrol and diesel models, enhancing the LX lineup with a sustainable driving solution.
Performance Specs
The LX 700h will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 engine paired with a hybrid system, delivering a combined output of 457 bhp and 790 Nm of torque. Power is distributed to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission, maintaining the performance characteristics of the non-hybrid variants.
Hybrid System Features
The hybrid system incorporates both an alternator and a starter motor, ensuring the vehicle remains operational even if the hybrid system encounters issues. The high-voltage battery is strategically located under the cargo area and housed in a waterproof tray, allowing the LX 700h to wade through water up to 700 mm.
Tech Upgrades Across the Lineup
Lexus has also revamped the interior technology across the entire LX range. New features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, refreshed front seats, and an updated fast-charging wireless pad. Higher-end variants, like the VIP and Executive models, will feature massage functions for added luxury.
Introducing the Overtrail Edition
In addition to the hybrid option, the 2025 LX 700h will offer an off-road-focused “Overtrail” edition. This variant features a distinctive Moon Desert paint finish, matte grey aluminum wheels with all-terrain tires, and a blacked-out grille. Inside, it boasts monolith-style upholstery and ash burl black trim, as well as front and rear differential locks for enhanced off-road capability.
Launch Timeline
The Lexus LX 700h, along with the updated lineup, is expected to roll out in phases beginning late 2024. The LX was initially launched in India in 2022, and current ex-showroom prices range from Rs 2.82 crore to Rs 2.84 crore.
With these updates, the Lexus LX 700h aims to combine luxury, performance, and sustainability, appealing to a broader audience of SUV enthusiasts.
